Example of day on a blogger work trip

Todays post is one that I know a lot of people wonder about when they see it on Instagram. I’m sharing the day in a life of a blogger on a work trip. It may look like vacation, and don’t get me wrong, we have a great time escaping the cold and winter, but it’s usually not a traditional vacation. There are a lot of content to be created! Here is one of my looks from the trip. This coverup and bikini are from Bloomigdale’s, who have a great selection of swimwear and coverups for your next vaycay!

If you’ve been following along on Instagram, then you know I recently visited Mexico with a couple other blogger friends. We were there from Wednesday to Sunday and I wanted to share a little behind the scenes of what goes on during a blogger destination trip. This was a shoot-focused trip, so most of our days were spent shooting new Spring/Summer content and also collaborations, such as this post with Bloomingdale’s. Our trips will vary if we are spending time doing excursions or tours, but this time, we didn’t have much planned except the pool and beach. The Thompson Playa was a beautiful property (with two separate buildings), so there was a ton of amazing shoot locations.

We did get time to relax and chill (on Saturday I think we only shot one outfit), but for the other two and a half days, we shot a lot. Working for ourselves naturally means there are fewer days off, but I’m not complaining. I LOVE what I do and would choose this any day! Here’s a little look into our itinerary for one of the days.

8am: wake up
8am-9:30am: get ready and select clothes for shooting (we skipped breakfast here, just had coffee)
9:30-12pm: shoot, change, shoot, change, shoot some more. There were 3 of us on this trip, so we just took turns shooting each other, which can take up more time. It’s a little easier with an even number of girls so you can pair off and shoot each other.
12-1pm: order lunch by the pool (or beach)
1-3pm: shoot a few more looks
3pm-5pm: lay by the pool
5pm-5:30pm: I try to do a quick workout
5:30- 8pm: Shower, get ready, edit, schedule pics for posting
8pm-10:30pm: Dinner and drinks (possibly go out if we aren’t too tired)
10:30pm-12am: Go to the room and work a little more until we fall asleep

By the end of the trip, the staff was asking if we did anything other than shoot because they saw us change like 20 times! Haha! If you have any other questions about blogging or what we do, please let me know! And let me know if you like to read more about behind the scenes of blogging!
