Creating a Statement Outfit

Hey friends! I want to share a few amazing items from River Island and talk about what to look for when creating a statement look! I love that River Island fits my style perfectly! They have bodycon dresses, embellished bodysuits, and lots of vibrant colors!

Lets talk about this dress for a minute. I went for a volume sleeve and floral pattern, which is a statement itself. But then I added another pop of color with the yellow heels! There is some yellow tones in the dress, so the heels tie it together well!

These sleeve may be intimidating to some, but you can always take baby steps and try something with a touch of volume! Below I’m sharing 3 ways (and giving options) for creating your own statement look!

How to make a statement

1. Bright Color

One of the best ways to stand out is with a bright color. Find a shade that you love and looks good on you, and go with it! I always find I get more compliments on my outfit if I am in a brighter color! Check out my previous post with River Island where I paired a bright pink top and blue skirt– now that was bright and fabulous!

2. Fun Print

I love a good print and thats always a great way to stand out. If these prints scare you, try a more subtle stripe like this jumpsuit!

3. Volume

This might be difficult for some people as volume can be a little intimidating. If this is the case, try to step out of your comfort zone and take baby steps- such as this jumpsuit with only a little volume on the hem. Or if you want to jump all-in, take a look at this fabulous ruffle top!
